If you missed the Pre-launch luncheon of Helping Hand Asset Relief Program, which was sponsored by Prayer Garden of Memphis, Founder, Marceline Williams, you missed an awesome event! The atmosphere was filled with jubilance and the food was free! The founder, Joyce Smith was excited to share details of HHARP coming 2015.  The luncheon was hosted by The Sharen Rooks Agency, Sharen Rooks handed out Gift Giveaways along with the Founder.       

We were pleased to have Allstate Agent-Nedia Brassell  on-Site, who also sponsored this event.  We appreciate Snow Funeral Home for showing their support and partnering with HHARP.   We are looking forward to expanding our partnerships throughout the Mid-South.

This event expressed the warm and caring support from Mary Tuggle, HHARP Board member who shared her personal story about overcoming grief and adversity when she lost her beloved daughter.  Ms. Tuggle, story filled each person’s heart with compassion and victory.

The median cost of a traditional funeral including embalming and a metal casket is almost $7,045.00 dollars, according to the most recent data from the National Funeral Directors Association.

Not including the grave-site and vault or liner, which can cost an additional $3,000.00 dollars. 

Recent data about funeral costs and the need for more work to be done. It was reported in 2013, by a local funeral director here in Memphis Metro, out of 287 funeral cases, 200 did not have life insurance policies to cover the funeral service and other related expenses. It is projected by 2017 the U.S. cremation rate will reach 48.8% according to the National Funeral Directors Association.
